The integration makes Allente one of the first operators in the world to complete the Google Common Broadcast Stack integration for an Android TV operator level STB. The project was completed in just six months thanks to close collaboration between Allente, Kaon Media, Nagra, Broadcom, 3SS and Google.
Google created its standardized Common Broadcast Stack (CBS) to accelerate the reach of the Android TV operating system around the world. Announced in October 2020, CBS will help more viewers get the next-gen app-rich services.
Adopting CBS will allow easier and faster integration for Android TV OS hybrid devices, faster time to market, simplified upgrades and lower overall total cost of ownership, the companies said.
The partnership between 3SS and Kaon to provide the new Allente service was announced in October 2020.
