April 4 (Renewables Now) – Finnish company Pohjoistuuli and its partners have sold a portfolio of around 30 MW of Finnish onshore wind farms to Hamburg-based investment manager Aquila Capital.
The sale of Tyrinselka’s assets was announced on Friday by Newsec Infra, which advised Pohjoistuuli in the transaction. The value of the transaction remained secret.
Tyrinselka’s portfolio is located in the southern Finnish region of Kanta-Hame and consists of two plants which were commissioned in 2016 and 2021, respectively. Four Nordex N131 turbines power the Tyrinselka I plant, while Tyrinselka II consists of Nordex N149/4.0-4.5 machines with a combined capacity of 17.2 MW.
The wind farms partly benefit from contracts under the Finnish Feed-in-Premium programme. Part of their production is sold under a 10-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with a local municipal utility.
Pohjoistuuli developed and built the wind farms and will continue to operate them on behalf of Aquila.
Megatuuli Oy, a Finland-based onshore wind farm developer, assisted Pohjoistuuli during the land acquisition and permitting phase of the projects.
